Contracts lets you create your own legal contract templates and send them to buyers for signing — all inside BreederBuddy. No separate e-signature tool needed. Once signed, the contract is stored on the record automatically.

How It Works

Creating a Contract Template

1. Go to Contracts in the left menu.
2. Click Add Contract to create a new template.
3. Write your contract text, including any terms, health guarantees, or conditions you require.
4. Save the template — you can reuse it for multiple buyers.

Sending a Contract for Signing

1. Open the contract template you want to use.
2. Click Send Contract (or Request Signature).
3. Select the buyer contact and optionally link it to a dog.
4. BreederBuddy sends the buyer a link to review and sign.
5. Once signed, the completed contract is saved and visible under the Requests tab.

Tracking Signatures

Each contract template has a Requests tab that shows every time that contract has been sent out — who it was sent to, when, and whether it’s been signed. Clicking a request highlights it; you can jump straight back to the template from a request, too.

External Sire or Dam

If the contract is for a puppy from a litter where you don’t own one of the parents, you can fill in the External Sire or External Dam name on the contract so it reads correctly without needing a dog profile for them.

Tips & Common Questions

Can I have different contracts for different situations?

Yes — you can create as many contract templates as you need. For example, a standard puppy contract, a guardian home agreement, or a co-own contract.

Does the buyer need a BreederBuddy account to sign?

No — buyers receive a link by email and can sign without creating an account.

Where do signed contracts get stored?

Signed contracts are stored under the contract template’s Requests tab and are also accessible from the buyer’s contact profile.
