Care Schedules
Video walkthrough: Watch on Loom (link coming soon)
Care Schedules are reusable task templates you build once and apply to any litter. Instead of manually creating the same events (vet visits, deworming, socialization milestones, etc.) every time a new litter arrives, you set up a schedule template and apply it in seconds.
What You Can Do Here
- Build reusable care schedule templates with a list of tasks and timing
- Apply a schedule to any litter to auto-generate its tasks as events
- Set tasks to trigger at specific intervals (e.g., “Day 14 — First deworming”)
- Edit, rename, or delete schedule templates as your protocol changes
- Search and browse your saved schedules
How It Works
Creating a Care Schedule
- Go to Schedules in the left menu.
- Click Add Schedule.
- Give it a name (e.g., “Standard Puppy Protocol” or “8-Week Vaccine Schedule”).
- Add tasks one by one — each task has a name, description, and timing offset (how many days after the start date it should occur).
- Save the schedule.
Applying a Schedule to a Litter
- Open a litter’s detail page.
- Click Apply Schedule.
- Select the schedule template you want to use.
- Set the start date (usually the whelping date).
- Confirm — BreederBuddy automatically creates all the tasks as calendar events on the litter, timed from the start date.
Editing a Schedule
- Open the schedule from the Schedules page.
- Add, remove, or reorder tasks as needed.
- Save — changes apply to the template going forward (existing litters already applied are not affected).

Tips & Common Questions

Can I apply the same schedule to multiple litters?
Yes — schedule templates are reusable. You can apply the same template to every litter.
What happens to the events after I apply a schedule?
What happens to the events after I apply a schedule?
Events appear on the litter’s Events tab and on your main Calendar. You can edit or delete individual events after they’re created without affecting the template.
Can I have different schedules for different breeds or litter types?
Can I have different schedules for different breeds or litter types?
Yes — create as many schedule templates as you need. For example, a standard puppy schedule, a guardian placement checklist, or a breed-specific health protocol.
